Meet Lara: top dog
Lara is the leader of the WoofKulture pack and the brains behind our rapidly-growing Swiss-based hub dedicated to top-notch doggy products, invaluable resources, expert advice, and pawsome pet care wisdom.
A Swiss native, multilingual Lara started her first entrepreneurial venture in 2019, Leman Language Services, copywriting for businesses and connecting language learners with talented tutors. Naturally this put her in close contact with Switzerland’s thriving expat population, who needed help bridging the language gap.
New pawsibilities
Lara had always wanted a canine companion, but it wasn’t until she relocated to a more rural setting in 2021 that the opportunity arose to welcome a furry friend into her life.
Golden Retriever Gigi was seeking a new home after his owner sadly became unwell. It was a pawfect match, and Lara quickly embraced life with her canine companion.
Bored of sitting in the office with mum while she worked, Gigi’s paws were getting restless. Already a keen traveller, hiker, and nature enthusiast, Gigi gave Lara the perfect excuse to add more outdoor adventures to her routine.
Gigi’s influence inspired her to launch Expat Woof, a dog-walking and dogcation service that gave busy expats peace of mind: they were free to work all day, while Lara and her team of devoted dog-sitters gave their expat pups the time of their lives exploring the gorgeous Swiss lakes, forests, and mountains.
Amazing achievemutts
Two years on, Lara is loving being a ‘professional dog mum’. Having spent much of that time offering clients various recommendations for local pet services, pet products, ideal hiking routes, dog-friendly vacation spots, and so on, Lara quickly established herself with a reputation for being caring, knowledgeable, and straight-talking.
By nurturing a strong network of people just as passionate about animal care and welfare, Lara has also been able to help rehome numerous dogs in need.
All this has sown the seeds for an exciting online store and community dedicated to doggy products, resources, education, care, and advice: WoofKulture.
Run by a small team of doggy devotees, WoofKulture has big plans and plenty of treats in store for 2024!
